How to cook quinoa real

Quinoa is very easy to cook.

In 3 simple steps your quinoa will be perfectly cooked to add to your favourite dishes.

There are many recipes that can be prepared with quinoa. As it's such a versatile food, it's perfect in lots of different dishes: sweet, savoury, with vegetables, with pulses... But perhaps the best thing about quinoa is that it takes very little time to cook and so it is easy to use on a day-to-day basis. However, there are people who have very little time to cook or simply prefer to spend the few minutes that it takes to cook quinoa on other things.

Don't worry!

You don't have to cook every day! The interesting thing about quinoa is that it keeps well in the fridge, and it's easy to combine in our dishes at a later date.

The 3 keys to ensure perfectly cooked quinoa are the amount of water, the temperature and the use of a lid.

Let's take a step-by-step look at how to cook this pseudocereal.

Generally, the first thing to do before cooking the quinoa is to measure the volume required, and to wash it well under the tap with abundant cold water to remove the saponins, a natural substance in quinoa that should be eliminated to improve its digestibility. However, you can skip this step with our royal quinoa and save time in the kitchen as it is already saponin-free.

So, after measuring the amount of quinoa required you can add it to a deep saucepan, depending on the amount of quinoa to be cooked.

Add two parts cold water to one part quinoa, a pinch of sea salt, cover and bring to the boil.

When the quinoa starts to boil, put on a low heat and leave to cook with the lid on and without stirring for approximately 15-20 minutes, until absolutely all of the water has evaporated.

Now the quinoa is ready to eat!
